Stepping Stone Education Center

“Preparing Preschoolers For Life … One Step At A Time”

OUR HISTORY

The Stepping Stone Education Center is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization created in 1985 as an after school program for school age children in the Phoenixville area. In 1987 preschool classes for three, four and five year olds were added. Since 1994, SSEC has concentrated solely on educating preschool children. To provide the best opportunities for the children and their families, SSEC works closely with the Phoenixville Area School District, Chester County Intermediate unit, Center for the Arts and Technology, Valley Forge Christian College, Phoenixville Community Health Foundation and the Phoenixville Community Education Foundation. Over 1000 children have experienced a unique preschool education with SSEC!

OUR MISSION

The Stepping Stone Education Center accepts each and every child regardless of their educational or financial needs. We provide learning experiences to support each child’s individual intellectual, social, physical, emotional and spiritual growth in a safe and fun environment. We focus on the needs of the whole family by offering parent seminars, providing activities for families to enjoy together and connecting those families in need with local social service agencies.

For more than twenty years, our mission has been to love each child for who they are, help them to grow into who they can be, share hugs and laughter every day and reach out to families whatever their need may be.
