You know the saying “never judge a book by its cover”? That is what I would say about the Franklin Commons (Franklin Hall), even though your first glance at the facility from the outside seemed more of a business center then a place to have a wedding. You need to take a deeper look or to go along with the saying “read the book to get the story”.
Well here is our story, we came across the Franklin Hall less than a few months out from our wedding date, my husband and I really wanted to find the place that truly showed life. We had our hearts set on choosing a unique location for our wedding, and instantly felt connected to this space. So the first walk through we did was after hours of course we didn’t get to see the details but from what we did see it gave us the sense to call the very next day to set up the appointment to see it in the light.
At our appointment we toured the campus walk and the Hall. The place was absolutely amazing. The high ceilings, the glass roof, the windows all around the Hall and the campus walk, well that was my favorite part. The place was better than we would have ever expected.
After our tour we meet with, Teri Eide and Kasey Jackson. They were our go to gals!! They were so on point with the, who’s, what’s, the where’s and they knew their stuff. But that’s not what made it special. They each had their own part in planning our special day. By taking the time to get to know us, and understand what we looking for.
Well Teri is, and always will be special to us, the time she spent with us going through many details and giving us great advice to make our day so special. I must have called her twice if not more everyday with questions or ideas, she always listened and gave great feedback. If I had to really give her a title she was truly my “Matron of Honor” I really am grateful to her.
Well we can’t forget Kasey, once we met with her we hit the ground running. Planning had commenced from that point on. Kasey took the title of our wedding planner to say the least she knew all the plays and really kept it all together for us. We must have changed our minds too many times to count. From the linens, to the glasses, to the dishes, to the food, it just seemed like all the right choices for us. Right when I was about to give up on the details, both Teri and Kasey really just gave us a true understanding of what the day is about. At that the moment we finally stopped to think about what the wedding actually means…it’s not about the details that go into making the day beautiful…none of those things matter because the day had beautiful-ness built right in…The two people getting married provide that. I’m really not trying to be corny…but somewhere in all the flowers, dresses, and cakes I’d forgotten what this day was really about…LOVE!
So when you bring it all down to the end. It was the beginning of our lives which starts at a most Un-common place, the Franklin Commons.
Thank you again Franklin Hall, and a special thanks to Teri and Kasey for a being a part of our special day and our lives.
